How to Use Undertone

  1. Open the app and tap "Choose from Library" to select a photo of your fresh tattoo, or tap the camera icon to take one.

  2. On the editing screen, use your finger to paint over healthy skin near the tattoo — skin that isn't affected by redness. This tells the app what the natural skin tone looks like.

  3. Tap "APPLY" to remove the redness. The app will adjust the inflamed areas to match your natural skin tone.

  4. Fine-tune the result with the sliders:

    • STRENGTH — how much redness to remove (higher = more correction)

    • THRESHOLD — how sensitive the detection is (lower = only corrects the most red areas, higher = corrects more subtle redness too)

    • BRIGHTNESS — slightly brighten or darken the corrected areas

  5. If the correction affects an area you want to keep unchanged, tap "EXCLUDE" and paint over that area. A light grey overlay shows where you've painted. When you tap "EXCLUDE" again to turn it off, you'll see the result with those areas preserved. The edges blend smoothly so there are no harsh lines.

  6. Use the "Before / After" toggle to compare your result with the original.

  7. When you're happy with the result, tap "SAVE" to save the corrected image to your camera roll at full resolution.

Tips:

  • Pinch to zoom in for precise painting

  • Use the brush size slider to adjust how big your brush is

  • Tap the undo arrow if you make a mistake while painting

  • Tap the trash icon to clear all painted areas and start over

PRIVACY POLICY

Undertone Tuner is a tattoo inflammation removal tool developed by David Allen.

Data Collection

Undertone does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app operates entirely on your device.

Photos and Images

All image processing is performed locally on your device using your device's built-in hardware. Your photos are never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third-party platform. Undertone does not access, store, or retain any photos beyond your active editing session.

Analytics and Tracking

Undertone does not use any analytics, tracking, advertising, or crash-reporting tools. No usage data is collected.

Third-Party Services

Undertone does not integrate with or send data to any third-party services.

Camera and Photo Library Access

Undertone requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of selecting or capturing images to edit within the app. These permissions are used only when you initiate the action, and no data from your camera or library is transmitted off your device.

Children's Privacy

Undertone does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Use of the App

Undertone is a free image editing tool designed to reduce the appearance of inflammation in tattoo photos. You may use it for personal or professional purposes. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Image Processing

All image processing is performed locally on your device. Undertone does not upload, store, or access your images on any external server. You retain full ownership of all images you edit using the app.

No Guarantees

Results will vary depending on the image, skin tone, lighting, and severity of inflammation. Undertone is not a medical tool and should not be used to diagnose or treat any skin condition. The app is intended for cosmetic photo editing only.

Intellectual Property

Undertone and its design, code, and branding are the property of David Allen. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the app.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, David Allen shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use Undertone, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect or consequential damages.

Tips and Payments

Tips sent to david@allentattoo.com via PayPal are voluntary and non-refundable. Sending a tip does not entitle the sender to any additional features, support, or services.
