Green Monster

Let's finish this thing.
Step 7
Fine tune - Final Check, tattoo yourself.

Green Monster Steps

Our last machine step! This was just going back and forth messing with the contact point screw. "Use a combination of.. point gap adjustment, while adjusting the output of the power supply."

And that's that.

Green Monster Steps

The instructions recommend an old school final check before using the machine on someone. But instead of running the needles on the heel of my hand, I had time to tattoo myself.

Begin personal tangent: My baby boy Xavier woke up earlier in the morning and said, "I luv you, dada", for the first time. We were a couple of days away from his first birthday and I couldn't get him off my mind. It was the perfect day to put something on me for him.

So I got online and found a cool version of the letter "X". It's a flat looking 2D representation of 3D engravers initials. /End tangent.

Green Monster Steps

Within the big black areas, Drew and I took time and practiced shading before filling it in.

The difference between this and my other shader is night and day. No more chatter! And smooth as butter. With straight black I was able to fade out smoothly with quick hand circles while gradually pulling out of the skin.

Step 7
Worth every penny.
Eikon

It looks like Eikon has pulled off the Green Monster project wonderfully.

The packaging and feel is fun. The instructions are designed well and written precisely. Learning (or refreshing) is all but guaranteed during the process. And, most importantly, the machine is solid.

Hopefully you've enjoyed this walkthrough.
Now please leave. I've got cleaning to do.
