Practice, practice

So the point of this outline exercise is pretty obvious. Get used to drawing something you have no connection with, and draw it well. I have come to terms with the fact that I will be tattooing the Tazmanian Devil, evil clowns, butterflies and tribal memorials for dead animals.

Suddenly doing an anime outline doesn't seem that bad.

man...how do you get your lines so nice and clean? clean it up in photoshop? was this traced? what kind of paper do you use?

It was certainly traced on a lightbox. Heck, I even dimmed the lights in the room so the contrast would be greater. A little masking tape to secure both sheets and a mechanical pencil... the guys at the shop run a 5 liner so the line thickness is pretty close.

There are also times when I'll scan an image and increase the contrast to pull out the outlines. More on that later.

Ha. I wondered if this was the same David Allen who did work for HM..... good stuff.

Using my psychic powers, I can now tell you that it is the same David Allen that did work for HM Magazine. :p

Else it would be better if higher nice resolutions of the graphics could be posted. I use a 1280 x 1024 resolution and I have to zoom in each time with Opera to fully appreciate the works. Yes, I do wear glasses. :)

Nice works! (from someone with a Photoshop disability) (^^)
